Despite his earlier injuries and having taken a break from powerlifting competitions, Hafthor Bjornsson recently had an update for his fans, showcasing his physical and mental strength. He shared glimpses of his training for the 2024 Arnold Sports contests.

In his recent Instagram post, Thor flaunted his strength by lifting impressive weights. This is remarkable because previously he had expressed a lack of confidence in lifting heavy weights. Now, he confidently lifted 683 lbs and performed movements such as deadlifts and more. Let’s find out what else he had in store to stun his fans.

Hafthor Bjornsson gets back to training

The Strongman revealed the repetitions and sets of his weightlifting, “310kg 5 reps 2 sets.” As the video progressed, Bjornsson shared his entire workout plan, which included deadlifts, atlas stones, and grip work. Amid his routine, he emphasized the importance of taking rest to recover faster from an injury that occurred due to intense workouts.

The strongman began his workout by lifting heavy weights. Gradually, he increased the weight after every repetition. He also tried D-stones. Although he lifted heavy weights, he emphasized on the fact that one should not push their body to extremes, and should always listen to its capacity.

After witnessing the Strongman’s effortless weightlifting, fans were absolutely excited as they eagerly await his return to the circuit at the Arnold Classic 2024.

Fans were excited to see him returning to Strongman events

The fans were enthusiastic to see Thor in action while preparing for the upcoming event. One wrote, “So excited to see you at The Arnold!!!!” Another predicted that his comeback performance was going to his best ever and wrote, “would love to see a comeback Thor you could make history and be the best ever.” The supporters emphasized that Bjornsson might create a historic moment in the strongman competition.

The majority of people expressed their happiness to see his return to competition. “So glad The Mountain is coming back home to Strongman!” added a fan. However, one fan joked at the ease at which the Mountain was lifting the barbell with 683 weight plates effortlessly, “Are you even trying?” Another fan hailed him as the King and penned“Here we go THE KING!”
