Devin Haney has been punching above his weight class lately. While the same did not bode well for many greats in boxing, ‘The Dream’ Haney has proven himself to be a different animal. After the Las Vegas resident decimated Regis Prograis in his hometown last Saturday night, many potential opponents have come forward. Meanwhile, Haney has also hinted at moving up weight classes yet again to 147. So, Eddie Hearn has shown interest in a fight between Haney and Terence Crawford

Last Saturday night, Haney made his debut in the 140 division alongside his debut with DAZN. So, the Matchroom Boxing head is contemplating a handful of lucrative fights involving Devin Haney. Some of the names that have emerged are Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, and, more importantly, the undefeated king Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford, as Bill Haney spoke about recently. While appearing in a recent interview with Fight Hype, Hearn has essentially begun a conversation for a potential fight at 147 lbs.

Eddie Hearn claims Devin Haney looked bigger against Regis Prograis

During his appearance in the interview, the reporter questioned Hearn about his thoughts on a fight between Haney and Crawford. In response, Hearn stated, “I think you saw the size of Devin. I mean – he looked like the bigger weight class to Regis, and Devin was coming up to 140, so I see him fighting at 147, no problem.”

Highlighting Haney’s fabulous performance at 140 against Regis, Hearn claimed The Dream would be stronger in the 147 division. However, Hearn also highlighted that fighters at 147 can inflict some serious damage. Nevertheless, Hearn thinks a clash between Haney and Crawford would be great. “Listen, what a matchup Terence Crawford against Devin Haney – a tremendous fight,” said Hearn. Of course, Hearn, as a promoter sees great potential in the money fight. But he’s not the only one.

Impressed with Haney’s showing in the Saturday night fight, Jake Paul also hyped up the potential dream match between Haney and Crawford.

Jake Paul ranks Terence Crawford

It’s no secret that Haney gathered admiration from the entire boxing world after his last fight. Fans and pundits came out to praise the 140-pounder for his performance, and among them was YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul, who wrote about Haney and Crawford. Turning to X (formerly Twitter), ‘The Problem Child’ Paul ranked Haney above Crawford in his pound-for-pound best list.
