After failing to come to terms with Oleksandr Usyk for a potential fight, promoter Frank Warren is now reportedly willing to offer a significant sum of money to Anthony Joshua for a fight against Tyson Fury.

The negotiations for a Fury-Usyk matchup fell apart due to several issues, including the location and purse split. In a recent interview, promoter Bob Arum explained that they were close to finalizing a deal, but ultimately, they were unable to come to an agreement. With the Fury-Usyk fight now off the table, Warren is now looking to set up a blockbuster fight between Fury and Joshua. However, this will not be an easy task as there are several hurdles to overcome before the fight can be made. Moreover, he is confident that Fury will dominate his fellow countryman.

Moreover, when questioned on how much money he would be willing to bet, he said, “Whatever they like!“.

Although Warren is confident that his fighter would beat ‘AJ’, this fight will be hard to make. If Warren is serious about making this fight happen, he will need to act quickly to get negotiations underway.

With both fighters in their prime, a Fury-Joshua matchup would be a massive event that would capture the attention of the entire boxing world.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Warren revealed the real issue which prevented the fight from happening. He stated that in the end, Usyk would have the better option to make more money if the fight took place later in December in Saudi Arabia.

“Because you’re Usyk and you can make say $15M fighting Fury — which is a good number — but if you go another route and you fight Fury in the winter in Saudi, you can make $50-60M,” he said.
