2022 will see some high-voltage boxing comebacks of young guns and hotshots, including Ryan Garcia, who has been out of action for almost a year. Through his social handles, Garcia has taken a dig at many rivals, challenging them for a fight. He even went after Isaac Cruz, to challenge him for a boxing outing in 2022.

However, Mayweather Promotions CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, ridiculed this potential matchup on his Twitter handle. Ellerbe shared Steve Kimstobal’s tweet.

“I was told that Golden Boy is trying to make a fight between Ryan Garcia and Isaac Cruz for March/April. Hats off if they actually get this done. Lets see where this goes…” wrote Kimstobal.

Responding to that, Ellerbe wrote, “All bulls**t, it sounds good though, so let me get this straight he’s supposedly coming off a hand injury and they “trying” to make a Cruz fight. Yeah ok”

Garcia, this year, was in contention to fight twice after his win over Luke Campbell. However, he had to withdraw due to personal reasons. In the latter half of the year, his return got derailed yet again as he broke his hand and couldn’t compete.

Despite all the adversities, the young boxing gun is keen to move ahead to bag a win and advance his chances towards a title shot. However, it is safe to say that Ellerbe isn’t impressed.

Why did Leonard Ellerbe hit out at Ryan Garcia in the above tweet?

Ryan Garcia shares a bitter rivalry with Gervonta Davis, and ‘Tank’ works with Mayweather Promotions. Both the men have gone after each other many times, challenging the other to a fight.

Moreover, their trash talks seem to be far from reaching saturation. As a result, Ellerbe sneaked into this rivalry to hit out at Garcia and put him on the back foot. After Ellerbe’s tweet, it will be intriguing to see if ‘King Ry’ comes up with a response to the Mayweather Promotions CEO.
