Adrien Broner has a strong social media fan following. The former four-division world champion broke the dry spell from his professional career after prevailing in his bout against Bill Hutchinson via a unanimous decision. One thing which was prominent about his inactivity was his activity on his social media. Even though he was inactive inside the boxing ring, he kept his fans engaged through his social media. But now, it seems like his inactivity did not have anything to do with that. Broner wants his fans to look in their best interests. And his messages have the same purpose. A recent message from the Lightweight to his fans echoes that same fact.

Broner recently took to his Instagram to make his fans aware of having “fake friends.” And, to paint a clear picture for the fans, he shared a comparison for his fans between a “real friend” and a fake one. This message comes after Broner received backlash from Errol Spence Jr for one of his interviews.

‘The Problem’ on his definition of “real” friendship

Broner posted an Instagram story sharing a text which gave the explicit differences between a real and a fake friend. Through this message, Broner has given a clear message to his fans to beware of the one who uses a person in the shadow of claiming to be a friend.

According to the message, real friends do things in contrast to fake friends. For instance, a real friend will call your parents mom and dad instead of Mr and Mrs. In another example, a real friend cries with you, whereas a fake friend has never seen you cry in your life. Furthermore, a real friend is with you for life, not just a moment. On the other hand, a fake friend is not there for life but only for a “while.”
