However, as of now, the Ukrainian is not in a state of fighting. So AJ is eager to clash with someone else ahead of his rematch to examine his skills and boost his confidence after suffering a big loss.
Recently, in an interview with IFL tv, AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn opened up on the rumored interim fight of his pugilist. The Chairperson of Matchroom boxing talked about the risk of fighting an interim battle and the probable opponents in the row.
He said, “That’s one risk of having an interim fight is potential loss can take away what you’re waiting for. So obviously, we got a look at the opponents and I think AJ was talking last night about Ortiz while southpaw the same Usyk. It might make sense, Joe Joyce.”
Further, he revealed who is the most probable opponent for the British Heavyweight boxer.
He claimed, “AJ talked about Deontay Wilder. It’s probably I think if you said to AJ right now. Who’s your top choice? I think he’d probably go for Deontay Wilder. It’s a big fight. I mean, it’s not an interim fight, is it? Let’s be honest, it could be a bigger fight than Oleksandr Usyk.”
Why does Oleksandr Usyk delay his rematch with Anthony Joshua?

After facing a loss against an underdog in the heavyweight division, Anthony Joshua reactivated the rematch clause to open the chances of clinching back his belts that he lost in the first battle.
However, because of tensions in his home country, ‘The Cat’ cannot make a rematch sooner. Therefore, it could be advantageous for Joshua t face someone like Wilder and try and get back to winning ways.
