P4P King Canelo Alvarez was present at ringside as Ryan Garcia earned the WBC Interim lightweight title with a 7 round stoppage win over Luke Campbell.
Despite being floored in the second round, Ryan Garcia regained his momentum and outshone Campbell. He knocked him with a vicious body shot. After the fight, he called out WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis for an in-ring encounter.
While the lightweight thriller has the potential to happen this year, Canelo Alvarez wants to see some more from Ryan Garcia. He applauded ‘KingRy’, for the performance but didn’t comment on a fight between Davis and Garcia.

Post-fight, Alvarez connected with Garcia and his team in the locker room to celebrate the win. He also talked about the 22-year-old’s bright future.
In conversation with ES NEWS, via a translator, Alvarez said, “He (Garcia)is going to be ready soon for everybody. He has got a lot of potential to beat anybody. I want to see him do couple of more fights and he can beat anybody.”
That said, Ryan Garcia is 21-0 now with 18 KOs under his belt. He is clearly a looming prospect in the stellar lightweight division and is on the brink of bagging the regular belts.
What’s next for Ryan Garcia?
At this stage, Garcia can call out any of the unbeaten champions in Devin Haney, Teofimo Lopez, or Gervonta Davis. All these fights make sense, and Garcia’s WBC mandatory sport enables him to demand an immediate fight against Devin Haney.
