Deontay Wilder Names Three Legends He Would Like to Fight Inside the Ring

Ex-WBC champion Deontay Wilder might do down as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time in the history books. Boasting off 42 wins (41 KO’s) alongside a draw and a loss, he is a dominant force in the division. But how would he perform against a fighter from a different generation?
While fantasy fights have always been common in boxing talks, Deontay Wilder just picked three men whom he would like to fight from different eras. Surprisingly, he prioritized Alabaman boxers and justified his statement.
Coming from Alabama, Wilder became a boxing superstar for his hometown. So his fantasy opponents came up from the same place.

Speaking with Fight Hype, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ said, “When I am asked you know that question, my mind always go back to Alabama. You know that the fighters that came before me and paved the way before me. Although most of them had to start their careers in other states. But they were born where I was from and wanted to go up against a guy that was from where I am from.”
He continued, “Like the likes of Joe Lewis, Evander Holyfield, which is one of my favorites and the likes of Ernie Shavers.”

Joe Lewis fought from 1934 to 1951 in a career where he set a record of 66 wins and 3 losses His last fight turned out to be a loss against Rocky Marciano. He was one of the finest KO artists in the division, and a fight against Wilder would have truly been a treat for the fans.
