Wisdom contends that the ghosts from the past often extract a heavy price. But it seems there are aberrations to the hypothesis. In this instance, ghosts from the past are hauling in big bucks, to everyone’s astonishment. Otherwise, how would you explain that despite the disqualification that came about from his biting the opponent’s ears and then a nearly two-year ban from boxing, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are reaping benefits from an incident that brought undue infamy to the sport?

The ‘Bite Night,’ remains one of those black marks in the memories of countless fans. It was an unfathomable sight to witness a boxer chewing bits and pieces of the rival’s ears in the heat of a fight. But that happened on June 28, 1997. Ears to years, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield

The lives of both former champions came full circle over the years. First, they mended their relations, and Tyson even apologized for his conduct. Then, the duo finally decided to take their newfound friendship to another level as they became business partners. Tyson, who has been in the cannabis business for some time, pulled in Holyfield to launch ‘Holy Ears’ as part of his Tyson 2.0 venture.

Speaking about his business, Mike Tyson joined Liz Claman on her show, ‘The Claman Countdown,’ yesterday. The latter touched base on his partnership with Holyfield, “And, Mike, I also want to point out that you have edibles that you did a collaboration with Evander Holyfield. This is true proof that former rivals, vicious and violent rivals, can come together, correct?

‘Iron’ Mike replied, “We have to look at – this is enterprise, and in [an] enterprise, all is friends and make a lot of money as well. [So] I was telling Evander, I was explaining to Evander – we are the only two fights that [are] still getting paid for a fight that’s thirty years old.

Former Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Ehud Barak, now the chairman of InterCure, joined Claman and Tyson. Reportedly, Tyson 2.0 has tied up with InterCure as part of its international expansion program.

Both the boxers, now well-retired, shared one thing in common. Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield went through bankruptcy following an era when they swam through pools of money. According to the website, ‘celebritynetworth.com,’ while through matches alone, Mike Tyson made around $423 million. At the same time, Holyfield took home reportedly $230 million. It’s hard to believe that both bitter rivals collectively earned roughly $650 million! But both had to part ways from their hard-earned wealth for one reason or the other.
