Despite losing the heavyweight titles, Anthony Joshua doesn’t appear to have lost his positive mind frame. He is still charged up and believes he has what it takes to become a 3x unified heavyweight world champion. That said, the recent defeat to Usk has caused several people to criticize AJ under certain valid parameters.

Standing against a technical master in Usyk, Joshua couldn’t decode his rival’s southpaw stance. Hence, he became a victim of lopsided dominance. Although AJ had his mere moments in the 12-round fight, they weren’t enough to get his hands raised.

However, Joshua has looked back at the fight and has analyzed his performance. He believes he can turn the tables in the re-match. The British star has posted a picture of himself on social media, revealing his take on the whole scenario.

Anthony Joshua wrote, “I’ve watched the fight, analysed my preparations & identified my mistakes. I’ve learnt my lesson. Thanks for sending love & checking in. Don’t worry about me. My spirit is strong!”

Oleksandr Usyk, who has accepted the rematch, is optimistic about retaining the belts. While many people had backed Joshua to win the first fight, Usyk came in as a surprise to them.

In 2019, Joshua had avenged his sole career loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in an immediate rematch six months later. Although Ruiz Jr. had stopped AJ in the first fight, the re-match was absolutely different as Joshua outboxed his opponent for all 12-rounds to become a 2x world champion. Thus, the current scenario isn’t unfamiliar to the British superstar.

But, as Usyk is an undefeated champion, and arguably the best of the modern age, ‘AJ’ will have to give his best. He cannot afford to overlook Usyk’s power and agility.
