The Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua saga stirred up a huge controversy in the heavyweight division. After announcing the undisputed title bout, Tyson Fury and his team had to change plans to face Deontay Wilder. And Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has now expressed his frustration with the same.
The two heavyweights were all set to clash on August 14th in Saudi Arabia; however, Fury’s old-foe, Deontay Wilder, won his arbitration case against the ‘The Gypsy King,’ and thus, the two will now meet on July 24th. Unsurprisingly, this did not go down well with the Englishman.
The promoter spoke to iFL TV on YouTube and did not mince his words while blaming Fury and his team for the collapse. He then admitted he could no longer trust them.

“I have no idea. I can’t trust them to say, you know… again, maybe there’s a little bit of naivety from me to think we’re dealing with the same kind of people. Because we’re not.”

The anger from Hearn is understandable given he was the one who did all the work for the bout. Fury and his team always showed their pessimism about the event and constantly criticized Hearn’s efforts. And the Englishman has now claimed he couldn’t promise that the fight will eventually happen.

Hearn said, “At this point, I don’t even fancy telling you, ‘Yea, no problem mate. We’re going to do a fight in the Summer and then we’re going to fight in December.’ Who knows… who knows what they’re going to do?”

Thus, this comment from the promoter shows they are back to square one with the potential Joshua vs Fury fight. Even if both heavyweights win their next bouts, it is unlikely they will meet in December.
