Eddie Hearn Says Joseph Diaz “Is Gonna Look Terrible” if He Doesn’t Fight Devin Haney

WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney has offered himself against Joseph Diaz after Ryan Garcia walked out due to his reported injury. The potential fight between Garcia and Diaz was set for the WBC Interim strap. And the winner would have received a shot at the world lightweight title.
However, Garcia’s exit and Haney’s interest to slide in has brought up ‘JoJo’ Diaz directly before the world title. While there’s no way Diaz will avoid a title fight, there is still no official update regarding the developments of the idea. And that seems to have vexed Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn.

Hearn connected with the media from the recent Mikey Garcia vs Sandor Martin fight. While talking about several things, he revealed why the matchup should happen at any cost.
Who Is Mikey Garcia’s Trainer, Robert Garcia?
“Devin [Haney] against JoJo Diaz is a great fight and JoJo is a fighting man. He is gonna look terrible if he doesn’t accept this fight. The same numbers that he agreed to fight Ryan Garcia. What is going on? The only way you don’t accept this fight is if you do not believe you can beat this man,” said Eddie Hearn.
Most of the top-rated lightweights have avoided facing the unbeaten Haney. Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, Vasyl Lomachenko, and many others haven’t expressed any interest in sharing the ring with ‘The Dream’. Hence, Joseph Diaz can be a viable option for Devin Haney.
