Errol Spence Jr. Says His Days at 147 Are Numbered, Willing to Skip the Terence Crawford Fight

On August 21st, Errol Spence Jr. will take on the toughest test of his boxing career. He will go toe-to-toe against boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. However, Spence Jr. is eyeing a much bigger picture post this fight, and he is ready to execute all his plans.
In an interaction with Barbershop Conversations, the unified welterweight champion gave an insight into his fight roadmap. He said, “Once I get that belt, like I told [PBC head] Al [Haymon], I want that fight with Crawford but if it doesn’t happen then I’ll probably just move up [to 154 pounds] or something.”
“I’m not going to waste my time trying to fight somebody who says they don’t have any interest in me anymore. He doesn’t want to fight me anymore.” (h/t Boxing Scene)

Prior to the Pacquiao fight getting booked, the fans were unquestionably in sync to watch Crawford go up against Spence Jr.
However, a fight between these two failed to materialize, and that’s how the Filippino Senator jumped in. Despite that, ‘The Truth’ seemed optimistic about booking a 12-round war with ‘Bud’.
Now, however, the 31-year-old will have to get past a dangerous ‘Pac Man’ who is in the twilight of his career.

That said, Spence Jr. will move into the Pacquiao fight as a sheer favorite and he’ll look forward to implementing his top-notch game. If he somehow registers a win in this thriller, ‘The Truth’ will establish his spot as the ultimate champ of the 147-pound division.
