Adrien Broner has had a topsy-turvy boxing career. The former super featherweight champion looked very promising during his rise and his reign as the champion. However, things took a turn for the worse in the year 2017 when he got defeated by Mikey Garcia. Since then, the boxer has fought only 4 times and emerged victorious twice. Additionally, the former champion also dealt with problems outside the realm of the sport but chose not to succumb to the pitfalls of his vices. For the same, the boxer has remained sober for the past few months to make a successful comeback in the sport.
It is safe to say that his hard work paid off as he fought super-lightweight fighter Bill Hutchinson and it is safe to say that he dominated him to secure the victory via a unanimous decision. Prior to the bout, there was a lot of speculation if the former champion would have the same skillset as he did during his reign. However, Broner chose to not pay attention to the opinions of his critics and had a message for them.

Adrien Broner sends an intriguing message to his critics
Broner’s inactivity in the sport, gambling addiction, and alcohol abuse played a factor in the critics not fancying his chances to fight with the same caliber as he did 7 years ago. Meanwhile, Broner paid not much attention and gave no importance to his critics. In an interview with TMZ, the former champion stated, “Critics and haters are like a***oles, everybody got one. You know but I pay them no attention so I don’t mind”

Broner is certainly aware of his potential and is quick to brush off the negativity that stems from his critics. Not to mention, Broner has always faced several criticisms head-on throughout his career but became a champion nevertheless. His mental strength also helped him to make a successful comeback by defeating Hutchinson. Meanwhile, he also considers it necessary to have critics and haters in his career to validate himself.

In the same interview, Broner explained why criticism is a form of validation. He stated, “If I didn’t have critics or haters then I won’t be doing something right. You know, I feel like sh*t why nobody hating on me? So then that’s when I am going to have a problem.”
