Unified lightweight champion, Teofimo Lopez had a steady response for Vasyl Lomachenko’s criticism, after the latter accused him of ducking a rematch.
In the original fight, Teofimo Lopez outclassed Lomachenko via decision to get hold of all the lightweight world titles. However, ‘The Matrix’ demanded for a second chance in one of his latest interviews.
Lomachenko claims he can vanquish Lopez in the rematch and vows to understand why Lopez isn’t willing to fight him again.

Nevertheless, Teofimo Lopez isn’t ready to buy such claims. The 23-year-old was present at the Alamodome stadium on the night of Canelo Alvarez vs Callum Smith.
Being the unbeaten World Champion, he grabbed a lot of attention, and reporters pounced on him with Lomachenko’s criticisms. But Lopez responded in fashion and dismantled his Ukrainian adversary with words in the interview.
He said, “F*** you, I don’t know what else to say.” Lopez bills himself as the fair winner and isn’t ready to pose Lomachenko ahead of him. So, he had a simple answer for all the analysts.
Lopez said, “Excuse the language, let’s make it PG right now. Excuses, he (Lomachenko) knows that he lost and he is going mayhem right now.
“Trying to find anything and everything because this is someone that they were talking about, hasn’t lost and only had one or two or three loses in the career of almost 500 fights.”
He added, “I think that’s gonna be a very hard pill for him to swallow.”
What’s next for Teofimo Lopez?
Despite grabbing the lightweight accolades, he is still untested against other champions of the division. 2021 can pose some big fights for him, if Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia, or Devin Haney throw themselves against ‘Take Over’.
The lightweight unit has many top-rated champions at the moment, but none have locked horns against each other.
