Despite being one of the biggest names in the UFC, Conor McGregor has always maintained an interest in boxing and also entertained the idea of transitioning into the sport. ‘Notorious’ currently has one professional boxing match under his belt. While most boxers live and breathe the sport for years before getting a shot at the world title. It seems like McGregor might just get an opportunity to win a world title.

McGregor’s last professional boxing fight was ‘The Money Fight’ on August 26, 2017. He faced boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. However, Mayweather went on to win the fight by a 10th-round TKO.
Meanwhile, Irish boxer Dennis Hogan recently secured the IBO super-welterweight world title. He showcased a stellar performance against Sam Eggington at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, Australia. And he went on to win the bout by decision. Moreover, Hogan challenged McGregor for his first title defense.

In fact, he had called McGregor out much before his title fight. Hogan said, “If I win, the first thing I will do is get in touch with [McGregor’s team] and say ‘Is there any chance Conor may want this?’ I would love to go back to Ireland and have a title defense there. I am due a homecoming.”

McGregor had also previously expressed his desire to win a world title in boxing.

Boxing fans were not too happy with the idea of Conor McGregor getting a shot at the world title. And a lot of them let their thoughts flow in the comments.
