Filip Hrgovic Belittles Alen Babic – ‘He Only Uses My Name to Go in the Croatian Newspapers’

Heavyweight contender Filip Hrgovic is one of the most exciting fighters from eastern Europe. The towering Croatian, who carries the hope of many Scandinavian boxing fans, is on course to challenge for the world title. And the ‘Stone Man’ has now given his honest opinion on fellow Croat Alen Babic.
Babic, like Hrgovic, is an exciting prospect who has promised to fight against the best. However, the two, who have a long-standing rivalry from the amateurs, have made no secret of their beef. Hrgovic has now explained why Babic talks about him so often.

The 12-0 heavyweight spoke on the Ringside Toe2Toe Podcast and said, “Oh man, Alen Babic is a clown, you know. He’s a…. He only use my name to go in the Croatian newspapers, because, you know, he’s [just] anybody and I am someone in Croatia. And he only mentions my name to get in the newspapers.”
This comment showed that the 6’6” heavyweight pays no attention to the talk from Babic. Hrgovic then added, “But, he’s funny, you know. He’s not a boxer with great talent. He reached his limit. Okay, he beat Tom Little, and I think that’s his limit. He’s not a boxer who can go to the top or something like that.”

The 6-0 heavyweight recently spoke to SkySports and gave a fiery interview of his own. He called Hrgovic ignorant and questioned who he beat. Babic also said, “It’s terrible that he’s in this place to fight for such a big fight. He’s not grateful, he’s ignorant.” He then called for a fight against Hrgovic.

Things like this only add to the excitement in the division. While both Babic and Hrgovic are talented, it will be interesting to see if their paths ever cross. However, it will be no surprise if Babic is Hrgovic’s next opponent since Michael Hunter pulled out of the title eliminator.
