Whether inside the ring or outside, Floyd Mayweather prefers to keep the slate clean. Arguably, the best defensive boxer in boxing’s history goes into an offensive mode when he needs to open the wallet. So the story goes that once he packed off Deji Olatunji in a jiffy, Floyd set his heart on his favorite pastime, shopping.

Frequently counted among the wealthiest athletes in the world, Mayweather loves spending his well-earned fortune on classy cars, stately homes, and jewelry. But there is a generous side to The Money. He loves buying gifts for his close-knitted friends’ group and family members.

The Business Tycoon Mayweather

One of the most successful athletes in history, Floyd Mayweather, is a self-proclaimed billionaire, probably boxing’s first. From 2012 to 2015, Forbes ranked him among the top 50 athletes receiving pre-eminent income for four consecutive years.

Following his departure from Bob Arum’s Top Rank, he established his promotions firm, Mayweather Promotions.

Now an owner of a NASCAR racing team aptly called The Money Racing, Floyd Mayweather has been the proverbial boon to the pay-per-view scene. Out of the top ten pay-per-view purchases, nearly half belong to The Money with the Fight of the Century against Manny Pacquiao in 2015 topping the chart. A record yet to face a breach.

In a two-decade-long career, Floyd has amassed a fortune of $1.1 billion. By 2018, boxing’s first billionaire was the highest-paid athlete in the world.

There are triumphant champions, but only one, Floyd Mayweather. A sharp intellect, given to business acumen, synched well with accurate punching inside the ring.
