The crown prince of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr, is currently training in Dubai for his upcoming fight against Deji. And it is a known fact that he loves to lend a helping hand to upcoming fighters. Mayweather is often seen giving young boxers tips or engaging in sparring sessions with them. In fact, upcoming boxer Sekaye Terry and his trainer spoke about their experience sparring with the champ.

Terry and his trainer, Chris Catalan, were on an interview with FightHype. In conversation, they were asked about their sparring session with the champ. Terry responded by mentioning that, at 45, he was a “shell of himself“. However, he was still as sharp as he was during his prime. And a different breed altogether.

Catalan, on the other hand, began by saying, “I studied film on Floyd for a long time. You know watching him on TV. So I was excited to implement some of the things I had in my mind. To be able to deal with it. And you know I’m happy to say that some of it worked.”

When asked how they adapted, Catalan mentioned that they eliminated some of the tactics that Mayweather used. Thereby forcing Mayweather to change as well. He further added, “I like the tactical warfare that goes inside there. And tryna instill different tactics in my fighters to be able to execute while they’re in there, against their opponent, doesn’t matter who it is.”

Catalan also added that he also told his students that Mayweather was a shadow of his former self.

The upcoming Floyd Mayweather vs Deji fight

Floyd Mayweather is currently in fight camp preparing for his upcoming fight. He was previously seen showcasing a sensational performance against Mikuru Asakura in Japan.

Floyd Mayweather described as a shell of his former self by his sparring partner.

This was when it was announced that Mayweather has his next fight in the book. And YouTuber turned boxer, KSI’s brother Deji was named as the opponent. The duo will face each other at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, on November 13, 2022.
