Floyd Mayweather spent a quarter-million dollars on Hermès Birkin Bags – Did he make an investment?

The illustrious Hermès bags are almost always out of stock. Hermès keeps the production levels of the bag low to help drive its value. Following his win over Conor McGregor back in 2017, Mayweather spent nearly $230,000 on four Hermès bags. He bought a $125,000 Birkin in limited edition white crocodile leather, and three other bags worth $35,00o each.

This purchase, however, could help Mayweather in the long run. According to a 2016 study by Baghunter, the Birkin bag outpaced the price of gold in the 35 years since 1981, when Hermès first began production. Another factor that adds to its value is the fact that it is an asset to one of the most popular boxers of this generation.
