Floyd Mayweather took out several world champions in his glittery boxing career of over two decades, but a few of his 50 pro-wins had left the entire combat world into shock. While many people saw Canelo Alvarez as an antidote to Mayweather’s prowess, in the year 2013, Mayweather proved his critics wrong.

Having entered the ring with their undefeated records intact, Alvarez fell prey to Mayweather’s skills and departed with a defeat. The loss may possibly haunt him to this day, as Canelo had demanded a rematch several times. Moreover, the Mexican star improved heavily after the loss and is yet to surrender again in a pro-boxing bout. However, records will always reflect him to have tasted defeat against Floyd Mayweather.

That said, schooling Canelo wasn’t the only eye-grabbing feature of the fight for ‘TBE’. It was also a financial glory for both sides, which Mayweather showcased in his outer-ring stunts. After almost a decade of the fight, the incident continues to gain momentum amongst hardcore fight fans.

The fight occurred in a stacked MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas and Mayweather wanted his allies to watch it closely. According to reports, ‘Money’ paid a whopping $605,000 to secure ringside tickets for his friends. He bagged a total income of $41.5 million from the fight. Therefore, the 600K+ expenditure on the tickets didn’t look a lot for him.

No doubt, he took a lot of lessons from the loss, as Alvarez believes he is in his prime right now and could have easily tackled Mayweather with his current conditions.

However, he is actively participating in exhibition bouts. Floyd Mayweather is still a massive prizefighter, and he is making full use of it.
