Last weekend, the Jake Paul vs Ben Askren fight ended in the most tragic fashion in the eyes of all hardcore fight fans. Here, the retired MMA star, Ben Askren, got floored in round 1 of the fight and couldn’t continue. The hardcore MMA fans expected ‘Funky’ to give a stern ring outing to the YouTuber turned boxer. But the former couldn’t stick to his game plans and ended up losing his first pro-boxing bout.
This fight garnered vast attention from one and all for obvious reasons. However, ‘Funky’ was on the receiving end of a huge backlash coming from the fans.
Now, Mike Tyson‘s ex-trainer, Teddy Atlas, gave his take on this scenario and blamed Askren’s coach for the latter’s loss.

In his own podcast (THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas), he said, “Whoever’s training him, you’ve taken a cheque then you’re responsible. You gotta make sure it’s better than that. Again it’s his job, I get it, I get it, but still, you gotta prepare better than that, I’m sorry, people don’t like it, don’t like it.”
Atlas seemed furious with the Ben Askren team’s conduct in preparations for this fight. Right from the first bell, Askren tried to distance himself from ‘The Problem Child’ and he could barely land any punches on the young gun.
As a result, Jake Paul maximized on the same and terrified the former UFC welterweight with a slick jab and a right hand. Hence, the referee stopped the fight in round 1 itself as he wanted to save Askren from further damage.
