Manny Pacquiao will take another shot at the welterweight gold when he faces the unbeaten champion Errol Spence Jr. on August 21 in a mega-showdown. The 42-year-old veteran will relinquish a long layoff that began after his last win against Keith Thurman in 2019.
‘Pac-Man’ appears ready to shock the world and be the first man to vanquish Errol Spence Jr. That said, his former opponent Keith Thurman has revealed the attributes that can benefit the Filipino Senator. Although Thurman has favored Spence Jr. to win the fight, he didn’t write off Pacquiao’s chances.
Speaking with FightHype.com, ‘One Time’ said, “Styles make fights, especially against Manny Pacquiao. We have seen it throughout his career many different times. But his number one attribute is that speed and that power, and coming in and that awkward little angles with that burst of energy, you know.”

“I do believe that that’s something that Errol has not seen in his career. Punches, the way that Pacquiao punches.”
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao, who has already posted clips of his training, looks imperious. Although he will have to shake off his ring rust, Pacquiao’s sheer experience can play a pivotal role in the clash. While Spence Jr. wouldn’t be an easy opponent to crack, fight fans can expect an electrifying contest between two elites.
Can Manny Pacquiao really beat Errol Spence Jr.?
It wouldn’t be fair to demean Pacquiao’s chances in the fight. However, an elite southpaw in Spence Jr. will also have a fair chance to win. Moreover, Spence Jr. will have the size advantage that can be very crucial. So, it’s hard to picture ‘The Truth’ being beaten by ‘Pac-Man’.
