Before Tyson Fury stepped inside the boxing ring with Francis Ngannou, the current unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk feared that ‘The Battle of the Baddest’ would negatively impact his upcoming fight with ‘The Gypsy King’ scheduled for December 2023. Likewise, ‘The Cat’ requested the former UFC champion to be mindful of the way he fought Fury as he needed the British Boxer on December 23.
Despite Usyk’s entreaty, Ngannou shocked the world as he knocked down Fury in a competitive fight. Likewise, ‘The Gypsy King’ ended the contest with a little scratch on his eye. As a result, his undisputed fight with Usyk initially scheduled for December 23 has now been postponed to 2024.

Despite almost everyone pinning their faith on Fury, Ngannou displayed commendable spirit and skills as he had the former in a fix. Likewise, although Fury had more experience, he could not knock out the mixed martial artist. On the contrary, ‘The Predator’ imposed his will on ‘The Gypsy King’ and injured the same with his powerful punches. As a result, Fury will now need time to heal before he can face Usyk.
In the wake of Fury’s controversial win against Ngannou, Mike Coppinger of ESPN informed the fans that the undisputed fight between ‘The Gypsy King’ and Usyk will likely take place in February 2024. Probably, it is the best for the health of the 35-year-old who needs to train harder for Usyk. However, if Fury does not fight Usyk in 2023, he will face bitter consequences too.
