Tate recently revealed the reason why he transitioned from being a fighter to a businessman and also why UFC superstar Conor McGregor was such a famous fighter. He appeared on Anthony Pompliano’s podcast where the host asked Top G how much money he made as a fighter.

Tate responded by stating it was tricky because fighting had an entertainment factor and one necessarily doesn’t have to be the best to earn more money.” It is show business, it’s not all about how good you are, it’s how good of a show you can sell. So if you are really really good but nobody’s interested in watching you fight, you don’t get fights ,” he said.

Andrew Tate sounds off on Conor McGregor
Pompliano seemed to agree with Tate claiming that a good fighter with no showmanship would fail to sell tickets,” So basically if you’re like a super technical fighter that has no flair, no personality, no thing. It’s not very entertaining to watch, but you’re good. It doesn’t sell any tickets.” He said.
However, Tate stated that some fighters were so good that they managed to make careers purely based on merit. He gave the example of Kazakh boxer Gennady Golovkin while also taking shots at former 2-division UFC champion Conor McGregor. “Everyone is in it for the money right. You can be so boring and so good that you make it to the top. You know who Triple G is, so Triple G did it that way, but he’s like from Kazakhstan. He barely talks, he’s had 400 fights and now he is known at 38. Like he beats every, he beat so much a*s they’d eventually say okay we’ll put him in there. But you could do a Conor McGregor have a few fights with the big mouth and do better right? So that’s another element of it, there’s a huge element of business.” said Tate.

Tate has been in the fight game for a long time and knows the workings of the system. Moreover, the entertainment factor of fighting has a real impact on the sport, as we see many fighters adopting showmanship to sell their fights. Therefore, many might agree with Tate on this topic, which is a rare phenomenon. The former kickboxer also seems to apply this to his own persona, as being outspoken and flamboyant has certainly helped him achieve infamy in this attention seeking world. Wonder what else he has in store for us in his three-step plan to remain viral?
