Floyd Mayweather Jr is one of the most exceptional professional boxers with the most exceptional boxing record ever. The former five-division world champion has had the opportunity to share the boxing ring with numerous boxing sensations throughout his professional career. Mayweather Jr has had his share of iconic matchups, from the highest PPV matchup with Manny Pacquiao to the fight with Oscar De La Hoya. But still, one fight which continues to be the talk of the town is his clash against Canelo Alvarez. Mayweather Jr and Alvarez locked horns in 2013 when these two went the distance, but the then light-middleweight champion was able to retain his title via a majority decision.
A recent clip of the fight between Mayweather Jr and Alvarez has resurfaced on the internet after 10 years since these two clashed. The clip has caused a stir among fans who are still in awe of Mayweather Jr’s boxing acumen against a much younger Alvarez. UFC sensational Jorge Masvidal also joined the fans to laud ‘Money’ for his boxing performance. And Masvidal had an appreciative message for the former champ. This comes months after he mocked the 46-year-old boxer.

Jorge Masvidal took to his Facebook to share the clip of Mayweather Jr and Alvarez going the distance with each other. The clip shows Alvarez showing his defense stance to Mayweather. But Mayweather Jr. being Mayweather Jr was not fazed by the Mexican. And, threw combos to get an opening.
The clip is titled “Floyd Mayweather puts Canelo in the Matrix.” It should be noted that the video shared shows a camera view of Masvidal, who is reacting live to the fight between the two. The fans will agree that one of the most noticeable things about the fight was Mayweather Jr’s evasive head movements. And it is safe to say that Alvarez did take notes from the best and improved his own game.
The fans did not waste their time to laud the former champion.
@RobertHeide wrote, “I didn’t see Mayweather run. I see Canelo boxing a ghost. Mayweather was 36 over his prime.”
Masvidal himself reacted to Mayweather Jr’s greatness. He wrote, “This is why Floyd’s the goat.”
