Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez are the subjects of constant discussion among boxing fans. The rivalry between the two has written some interesting chapters in modern-day boxing. One was the face of boxing before retirement, and another one is currently the torchbearer of the sport.

The pair collided in 2013 for the light-middleweight title and produced a highly exciting blockbuster at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Mexican fans were expecting a win from their rising star. However, Mayweather disappointed the young Mexican and clinched the victory by decision. After facing the first defeat of his professional career, Canelo became one hell of a fighter and terrorized the ring, scoring back-to-back knockout wins in the different weight classes.

Right in front of Mayweather’s eyes, Canelo took over the sport and became the biggest name in boxing. Eventually, it had an adverse effect on Mayweather, who did not consider Canelo a fighter of his level.

Therefore, whenever the name Canelo creates buzz in the boxing world, Mayweather comes up bragging about his win over the Mexican star.

Recently, Fight hub asked Canelo’s opinion on this. Media personnel asked, “Whenever there is a Canelo fight, Floyd always does something in the news. Do find that weird or do you kind of scratch thins thinks why is he bringing up things like that? “

To which Canelo responded, “I don’t know, but it never works so fine. Maybe, I don’t know. He’s gonna respond because he only knows.”
