There has not been an undisputed Heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999 when he defeated Evander Holyfield. Before the Saturday night fight began, the probability of the next undisputed Heavyweight champion coming out of Fury’s fight in December was high. However, that’s not the case anymore! Talking about the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Uysk fight, Frank Warren has insisted that the fight would be pushed to 2024.

Furthermore, after getting dropped in the third round and suffering a heavy beatdown at the hands of Francis Ngannou, Fury was visibly damaged after ten rounds of carnage. Even though Fury claimed he wants to fight Usyk, the date of the fight remains murky at best. Nevertheless, Oleksandr Usyk is still hoping for the fight to happen on 23 December. Likewise, the Ukrainian boxer recently sent an out-of-the-ordinary message to Fury to persuade him for the clash.

While appearing in an interview with Boxing King Media, the reporter questioned Usyk if he had any messages for ‘The Gypsy King’ after the Ngannou fight. In response, Usyk urged Fury that the fight has to happen. “Hey Tyson, we must fight,” said Usyk. He even emphasized the date the fight should take place. “We must do it 23 December,” Usyk said during the interview.

Usyk went on to suggest that the two of them will meet next in the ring on December 23. “See you in the ring. 23 December,” said Usyk. However, he followed that by saying something nobody had expected. “I love You,” Usyk said during the interview. With that out of the way, experts and fans alike have condemned Fury for his lackluster performance. Someone like Eddie Hearn has gone as far as to suggest Fury vs. Usyk is a mismatch.

Eddie Hearn brands Fury vs. Usyk a mismatch

Hearn has been trying to secure a big fight for his boxer, Anthony Joshua. Previously, he failed to gather the funds from Saudi investors for a potential fight between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua. However, following Fury’s sad performance in the ring last Saturday night, Hearn might have caught a break he has been looking for.

While appearing in an interview with Boxing Social, Hearn claimed he told Joshua he could beat all the boxers after Fury’s fight. “I’ve texted [Anthony Joshua], I’m saying, ‘Let’s f***ing go! You beat all these people,” said Hearn. He proceeded to suggest no one wants to see a fight between Usyk and Fury. “Usyk-Fury is a mismatch, no one wants to see it,” Hearn told Boxing Social.
