Despite several hurdles, Anthony Joshua desperately wants to have a shot at the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury somewhere down the line. Although the fantasy fight has fallen through on several occasions, ‘AJ’ believes the matchup will be great for the sport of boxing.
However, the three-belt unified titlist will have to overpower Oleksandr Usyk on September 25 to advance further. Furthermore, Tyson Fury will also have to defend his belt against Deontay Wilder on October 9.
That said, Joshua continues to talk about Tyson Fury in several interviews. In the latest chat with Steve Bunce on the 5 Live Boxing Podcast, he once again shed light on the potential heavyweight thriller, sending several fans into a frenzy.

Anthony Joshua said, “Do I need Tyson Fury on my record? I need it. Fight good fighters and they bring out the best of you. We need it for boxing. Training camp is hard. To get better is very difficult in boxing. To fight Tyson Fury is a big challenge. I’m going to put that pressure on myself to actually get better.”
“Let’s see how far I can take myself during this period. It’ll be a good challenge mentally. Not about him, but because I actually want to do well.” (h/t BBC)
Joshua, 24-1, has 22 KOs under his belt in the professional boxing chain. He is one of the biggest hitters of the heavyweight division and has constantly proven his skills against elite-level opponents. But certain factors have caused him to be the underdog opposite Tyson Fury.
