Boxing legends Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson are two of the most iconic figures in the world of boxing. The two former heavyweight champions never fought each other in the ring. Yet, there has been a lot of discussion about what would have happened if the two did.

Theirs was a relationship that was based on mutual respect and admiration for each other. Tyson solidified his legacy in the 1980s after he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history at just 20 years old. Moreover, he cited Ali as one of his role models and an inspiration on multiple occasions both for his skills in the ring and for his activism outside of it.

Muhammad Ali’s daughter Rasheda, in an interview recently, revealed how her father struggled with Parkinson’s in the latter stage of his career. However, fans have found some solace after a picture of ‘Iron’ Mike comforting Ali resurfaced on social media.

In the picture, Tyson can be seen talking to the ‘People’s Champ’ while he read the Quran. The picture showed a fragile Ali during the later stage of his life where he dealt with a host of medical issues. In addition, the image quickly garnered a lot of attention, with fans of both fighters sharing it and commenting on the mutual respect and admiration that existed between the two.

What do the fans have to say about the picture of Tyson and Ali?

A user named Tommy Luchento claimed that Ali was always a role model for his generation. For him, Tyson was also great in his own right but it was not the case before. “Ali was and is ‘The Man’, Tyson was great too. And now his character is great, not always was,” he wrote.

Another user named Thapelo Ramolobe was glad that the two legends did not fight each other and were from different generations. “I’m glad they never had to go against each other,” he wrote. User Gary Tomlonson touted the two as the greatest boxers of all time. “Two of the greatest of all TIME!!!!” he wrote.

Boxing fan Arturio Bell stated that both fighters will always be legends in the sport. “Both of you are legendary,” he wrote. Lastly, a user named Alexander Lammens prayed for Ali’s soul to rest in peace. “The two greatest! Rest in peace Muhammad Ali The Legend” he wrote.
