It is very common to witness opponents discredit a boxer’s achievement by undermining the competency of his previous opponents. In some instances, this assertion may hold merit while in some it is just a tactic used in mental welfare. Both fighters are facing the biggest challenge of their lives as of yet. Spence Jr. is aware of the same and  does not find Crawford’s opponents to be of the same caliber as him.

As per Boxrec, Crawford has a knockout percentage of over 76% which is worthy of praise. However, it is not solely about how you win but also who you win against. Spence asserts that Crawford’s list of opponents is not too impressive. As per Boxing scene, he stated, “He stopped everybody but I’m not those people,” He further asserts,  “I feel like I’m way better calibre than the guys that he fought.”

Such conviction only adds fuel to the fire and increases the stakes of the matchup. It makes the boxing world more invested in this bout, including the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’.

Who does Mike Tyson favor out of Errol Spence Jr. or Terence Crawford to be the victor?

The matchup is a hard one to predict. However, the betting odds have Crawford as the favorite going into the bout. Meanwhile,  Mike Tyson finds himself in agreement with the same. In an interview EsNews, he predicted Crawford to win.

Tyson is  substantiating his claim by reminding the fans that both competitors faced a common boxer; Shawn Porter. In their respective contests, Crawford won via an impressive stoppage while Spence Jr managed to secure a split decision victory. This gives Crawford a slight edge against Spence Jr., according to Tyson.

However, in all fairness, it bears a mention that styles make fights and a calculation based on a performance against a common opponent is not necessarily a reliable indicator. But this also goes to show, that a legend like Tyson has to look at every small detail to come to a decision in such a competitive matchup.
