When did Amir Khan turn professional?

Amir Khan turned professional in 2005. In his very first fight, Khan outclassed David Bailey via a T/KO in round 1. Also, prior to this, Khan appeared in the 2004 Olympic games wherein he bagged a silver medal in the lightweight category.
