Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez is gearing up to fight his next contender John Ryder. The bout will be a homecoming for the Mexican champion as the fight is set to take place in his hometown of Guadalajara. However, it looks like Saul and his six brothers have made headlines for another monumental achievement.

It was recently revealed the seven Alvarez brothers have clinched the Guinness World Record for the “most siblings to fight in the same boxing event”. This momentous achievement took place back in 2008 when all Alvarez, along with his brothers Victor, Daniel, Gonzalo, Ricardo, Ramon, and Rigoberto, all participated in the same event.

This was not all as during a recent press conference ahead of his highly anticipated fight, Canelo and his brothers were honored for their remarkable achievement. They were awarded an official plaque by the Guinness Records to credit their achievement also showcasing how the family has boxing in its DNA. However, despite the achievement the fans were not too happy about this achievement overshadowing the fight itself. In addition, they were quick to question the authorities as they reacted to this announcement.
