The high priest of boxing, Floyd Mayweather, is preparing for yet another exhibition bout. And, it seems like other fighters can’t get enough of using the Mayweather name for clout. Jake Paul, recently announced that he could send Mayweather into retirement if he faces him in the ring.

Mayweather previously faced Paul’s brother, Logan Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida on June 6, 2021. The non-scored bout was a one-sided affair with Mayweather having the upper hand. However, it should be mentioned that the fight still went the entire distance.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Mayweather called out the younger Paul. He mentioned that Paul’s sensational performances were due to him fighting non-boxers.

It was worth noting that Paul had previously expressed his desire to fight, Canelo Alvarez.

Mayweather further added, “He’ll get f***ed up by Canelo. There is no way. He’ll get demolished. For what he’s doing, as long as they keep getting YouTubers and keep putting him in there with MMA guys that’s kind of over the hill, he’s going continue to shine.”

This statement however did not sit well with Paul.

In a tweet, Paul mentioned that while the older Paul went the entire distance with Mayweather. He would end the fight in 6. And that he will send Mayweather into ‘proper retirement’ with the fight.

He even went on to ask, Stephen Espinoza, of Showtime Sports to organize the fight.
