He began his career back in 2012 and kept putting on some dominant in-ring performances. Diaz, with time, showed how skilled he was. The southpaw boxer has the ability to finish his fights in a flash. However, he is comfortable if his fights go the distance.

In 2018, ‘Jo Jo’ locked horns with Gary Russell Jr. The pair squared off for the WBC featherweight title. Both the fighters held some weight to their name, and it was tough to predict the winner. But Russell Jr. turned the fight in his favor by going after Diaz from the first bell itself.

Diaz tried cutting the distance to land his signature hooks, but he failed terribly. That said, Russell Jr. kept a suitable distance to avoid the heat coming off ‘Jo Jo’s hands.
As a result, Russell Jr. ended up winning the fight via a unanimous decision.
