Mike Tyson was notorious for his drug use throughout his boxing career. After gaining fame at such an early age, Tyson began extensively using drugs like c***ine and alcohol to a degree where it impacted his life significantly.

Iron Mike has a lot of stories to share about his drug use and he did share one such story in an interview with ReportTv where he answered if he ever fought drunk in a fight.

Tyson stated that he had fought multiple times while under the influence, after which the reporter asked him whether it was the Buster Douglas fight, which he lost despite being a huge favorite. Iron Mike then stated that it was another fight and shared a story of how he once fought a bald guy after doing co***ne. “I was in Brooklyn. I had a fight, I mean, I don’t somebody was bald and said something and I’m high. I’m on c**aine so I fight for any reason I could. I probably started the fight.” He said.

Surprised by this, the reporter asked Tyson,” did you just say co***ne is it?” which seemed to have upset the former heavyweight champion who then just stared at the reporter. He then apologized and stated that he just heard what Tyson said, which lightened the mood after which Tyson said,” Well, it’s the first covenant of drinking.” 

The former champ has definitely had a colorful life, and isn’t shy about sharing his stories. Surprisingly, he is very open about his struggles and that humanizes the ferocious boxer in the eyes of the public.

The influence of drugs on the life of Mike Tyson

Tyson has never been shy to address his drug use publically. The champ has come out many times and revealed how drugs impacted his life both positively and negatively. Tyson was involved with drugs from a very young age, as his mother Lorna was an alcoholic and his father was a drug dealer.

This led to Tyson using these substances, even in his fighting days. However, he realized his problem with dependency and became an anti-drug ambassador. He even shot an anti-drug commercial with the FBI and was in many anti-drug campaigns throughout the 80’s and 90’s.
