Devin Haney, the little boy from San Francisco, has risen to the top of the lightweight division. In 2015, ‘The Dream’ began his professional boxing career at the age of 17. Since then, the 23-year-old has established his worth in the ring with some impressive performances. Following his victory over Australian boxer George Kambosos Jr., the pugilist has recently become the face of boxing.

After his win over Kambosos, Devin Haney shared his thoughts about his victory at the press conference. This is what the boxer had to say, “Yeah, I mean this is a feeling that you know everybody that was doubting me, everybody that said this and that. They came up with this email champ thing and now email champ is the top dog.”

He further added, “Undisputed, there’s no dispute. You cannot dispute any title. What it comes after everything that I have here. So, this is a dream come true. I thank God enough for it. Fu** them, I’m the top dog now.”

Haney appears to have sent a powerful message to his detractors. He even expressed gratitude to Kambosos for providing him this opportunity and also hinted at the possibility of a rematch. However, only time will tell whether a sequel will be made.

Haney vs. Kambosos, one of the most anticipated fights of the year, eventually took place and put the Marvel Stadium on fire. Prior to the fight, there was a lot of animosity between the opponents. The American boxer was unable to attend the initial press conference. Following that, the ‘Ferocious’ taunted Haney on Twitter.

He wrote, Damn shame Devin couldn’t keep to his commitments and be here for the scheduled press conference between me and him TODAY in Melbourne!! Don’t get cold feet on me now bro I’m chomping at the bit for June 5th.”

Furthermore, the Australian boxer was 0.36 pounds overweight. Eventually, he was given two hours to shed the additional weight, and the boxer returned at 134.49 pounds. This time, ‘The Dream’ didn’t leave a chance to mock his opponent.

He said, “I mean he’s sucked up, he’s dry. I’m a true champion, and true champions make weight.”
