On the line will be the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, IBA, Lineal, and The Ring heavyweight championship in what promises to be the biggest bout in the history of British boxing.
However, Joshua will have to get past Kubrat Pulev come December. On the other side, Fury is also eyeing a title defense against the undefeated German boxer, Agit Kabayel.
“I am the mandatory. He has two options. One, to fight me, the other one to vacate and go fight Tyson Fury,” Usyk declared.
Oleksandr Usyk has been the mandatory challenger for the WBO gold for quite some time now. Either AJ fights him, or vacates the WBO gold and fights the WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.
According to boxing rules, a Super champion of any division gets the opportunity to challenge the champion if he decides to jump up and down one division.
The former cruiserweight champion has now fought multiple fights at the heavyweight division since jumping weight in October 2019. He passed his first real test against Derek Chisora this past month via unanimous decision to maintain his undefeated streak.
