Fight fans are not just invested in witnessing bouts inside the square circle but also in the day-to-day affairs of the fighters themselves. Recently, they were stunned to witness Andy Ruiz appear leaner than he has ever been in a viral picture. Although Ruiz has been boxing for a long time, his claim to prominence came when he defeated Anthony Joshua in 2019 via a stoppage.

Since his claim to the heavyweight championship, which he subsequently lost, the fighter has been a household name in the sport. Subsequently, he receives a lot of scrutiny with regard to his physique. And in a recent picture, which has been making rounds in the boxing world, Ruiz looks like he can fight in the “middleweight division”. The fans were quick to notice and could not help themselves but make their reactions public.

Andy Ruiz’s recent picture draws fans’ attention

Ruiz was on vacation and a picture of his went viral in the boxing world. @BoxingKingdom14 posted the picture on Twitter with the caption,Andy Ruiz Jr looks like a middleweight now!”

One fan is of the opinion that pictures in today’s time can be misleading. He stated, “I’ve been catfished by Ruiz pictures before I’m not believing it until I see him in the ring.”

A fan named Robert Ray recognizes him as the guy who handed Joshua his first defeat. He stated, “The one dude who changed Anthony Joshua”

One fan finds this image to not be an accurate representation. He stated, “Photoshop….he had similar pictures before the rematch with Anthony Joshua only to show up looking like Big Pun.”

Along similar lines, one fan named Shaun credits his dressing sense for him appearing slimmer. He stated, “No, hes very good at wearing slimming clothes & camera angles to appear slim. He’ll be around 260-280 as per normal”

Lastly, one fan stated that his added weight was the reason he got defeated by Joshua in the rematch. He stated, “It’s a shame he didn’t have this commitment and motivation after he shocked the world and beat AJ in front of the boxing world! Instead for the rematch he came in even bigger and not in a good way he was a absolute mess and so was his title defence he gifted AJ back the titles!”
