In the lead-up to the highly anticipated clash between Devin Haney and Regis Prograis, the countdown has officially commenced. The gears are in motion, and the date for the brawl is set for December 9. Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney aspires to elevate himself to a two-division champion status by stepping up to the 140 lbs category to face Prograis. Simultaneously, Prograis has the potential to disrupt the status quo and prove himself better than the former undisputed champion.

Both fighters have previously captured headlines, with the 29-1 boxer accusing Haney of omitting early career losses from his record. The public opinion for the upcoming fight is rather divided. While some are backing Haney to pull an easy victory over Prograis, others are leaning on the side of the current champion. With just a couple of weeks left for the fight, to precisely predict the result is almost impossible. However, the boxing sensation Ryan Garcia has something to say about the bout.

In a surprising turn of events, Ryan Garcia came out and shared his support for the former Lightweight champion Devin Haney. In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Garcia stated, “You gotta give the edge to Devin Haney, pure boxer, throws a lot more punches than like say Shakur Stevenson and like, you know he knows what he’s doing in there. I like his game. And I think he’s game is going to be too much for Regis. I think that Regis got a puncher’s chance, don’t get me wrong. I think he just don’t have enough experience [he] started the game late. And just kind of like- he fights, like, lethargic almost and gets hit with some good shots. I don’t know, I just don’t think he’s sharp enough to beat Devin Haney. “

Overall, Garcia predicts that Prograis’ lack of experience might end up causing his downfall against ‘The Dream’. He believes that given the vast experience and exceptional skills, Prograis’ defeat in the fight is all but confirmed. Contrary to what Garcia said, Prograis has looked quite confident throughout the buildup to this bout. However, Garcia is not the only one to side with Haney.

World champion shares his prediction for the fight

The 21-year-old WBA continental light-welterweight champion, Adam Azim, recently shared his insights on the impending clash between Devin Haney and Regis Prograis. Azim also expressed his belief in Haney’s superior skills, foreseeing a victory for the unified champion. Azim, in an interview with Fight. Hub TV, articulated, “Devin Haney comes out with ease in the fight. I think he is world-class. I think he’s better at 140. Regis Prograis in the last couple of fights has not impressed me but I feel like Devin Haney wins with ease. I think he outboxes him. I don’t think he has the power to stop him.”

This perspective adds a layer of significance to the upcoming bout, given Azim’s standing as a current world champion in a closely related weight class. While predictions may vary, Azim’s assessment carries weight due to his firsthand experience in the boxing arena. In the buildup to the fight, Prograis issued a stern warning to the 25-year-old Devin Haney, setting the stage for what promises to be a compelling showdown in the world of professional boxing.
