REPORTS: Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. Postponed

Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr’s exhibition eight-rounder battle has found a new date now.
After being pre-scheduled on September 12, MMA Fighting reports the highly anticipated matchup will be moved to November 28. However, the venue remains the same.
The fight will happen in Carson, California, with zero fan-attendance. Yet, it is still unknown why there has been a sudden change in the final date.

Tyson, 54, has already appeared in the much-awaited Shark Week, and ‘Iron’ Mike is now the undisputed champion amongst the sea predators.

Although Tyson is reported to be unharmed along with the entire crew of Discovery, his potential appearance in the venture could be a factor behind the change of dates.
That said, the program was re-recorded and Tyson is potentially back in his gym for the past few weeks. Not to forget, ‘Captain Hook’ is also gearing up for the battle.
‘Iron Mike’ vs ‘Captain Hook’
The entire boxing community was sent into a frenzy following the confirmation of the matchup. It would be a onetime movie-like scenario where two former World Champions would break retirement to face each other in the ring.
While Tyson is going to set foot on the canvas after 15 long years, Jones Jr. is relatively fresh considering how he hung his gloves up only in 2018.
Despite riding a four-fight win streak, Jones Jr. decided to bow out in his last fight against Scott Sigmon. Jones found his way back to fighting ways before the rust could settle in.
However, Tyson relinquished his pro career with back-to-back defeats against Danny Williams in 2004 and Kevin McBride in 2005. So, ‘Iron’ Mike would seemingly have to deal with a ‘tough’ Jones Jr. to taste victory.

The fight is undoubtedly going to be an intense affair. Tyson, one of the deadliest knockout specialists, appears in shape as he continues to post videos on his social media handles.
Even if he lost the spark in his final days of pro boxing, Tyson is still one of the best to have ever played the sport.

Thus, if landed clean, Tyson can make Jones Jr. hit the canvas at any time. However, Jones Jr. can do the same with his deadly fists. To settle it all, the duo needs to lock horns on the final date of November 28.
