‘King’ Ryan Garcia is a young sensation in boxing. The Mexican made an early debut in professional boxing and has once claimed to retire at 26. However, in his recent interview, he opens up about some changes in his initial plan to retire at 26.

Garcia caught early attention in boxing because of his speed and knockout abilities. He is an undefeated boxer and a celebrity who is famous for his statements in public. And Likewise, he once stated that he will retire at 26 and follow a different profession for his living.

Ryan Garcia’s previous retirement plan

The Flash‘ has often opened up about his plan to retire at 26. People questioned about his post-retirement plans many times, but he didn’t give any firm answers.

Many predicted his entry in film making and some also predicted his entry in the Mixed Martial Arts format. However, Garcia never disclosed his plans for post-retirement.

But in a recent interview, he declares that he won’t be retiring at 26 and will fight further. What changed Garcia’s mind?

Change of plan

In an interview with DAZN, Garcia describes some of his plans for the next 10 years.

And in context, the interviewer exclaimed, “Whoa, whoa, 10 years! You, you said you was going to retire at 26!”

The DAZN interviewer suddenly remembered about Garcia’s plan to retire at 26 and hence, he interrupted Garcia’s talks to clear the doubts.

Garcia in response said, “You know a lot of things changed, a lot of things changed, you know a lot of things are said at moments. You know I don’t think I could get away from the game honestly. Uh, I thought I was gonna have more fights. A lot of things that happened shortly in my career, kind of sporadic, but that’s just always been a part of my life .”

Garcia gives his reason to not retire at 26. He explains the things that have changed as time passed by, which led him to change his decision. Moreover, he supports his decision by expressing his love for the game and stating that he cannot go away from boxing.
