With his performance against Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia has proven he will make the best and greatest fights possible. And now, he seems to be after another blockbuster showdown with none other than Errol Spence Jr. However, there’s one complication! What’s that? Well, Garcia is close to super lightweight, whereas ‘The Truth’ is in welterweight.

Nevertheless, Garcia seems to have the answer to that as well. After weighing in at 143.2 lbs for the fight against Haney, ‘King Ry’ revealed he will be climbing up to 147 because making weight at 140 is proving difficult for him. So, in that scenario, a fight between Garcia and Spence is entirely plausible. Something fans seemed excited about when Garcia called out the Long Island native today on social media.

Hours earlier, the Victorville native hopped on X with a question. He wrote, “Wait RG vs Errol would be crazy. Nah yall want that? Let me hear you.” It’s worth mentioning that Garcia has never fought at welterweight, whereas the same cannot be said about Spence. The 34-year-old has not only won but has also successfully defended multiple titles at the weight class.

What’s more, even though Garcia seems excited about the potential Spence fight, there has been no word from Spence’s corner about the same. On top of that, Spence was trying to make a fight against Sebastian Fundora. However, the fate of that fight is murky at best, despite Spence’s close relations with the PBC. Nevertheless, after fans discovered Garcia’s callout on X, there was a lack of consensus about how they felt about the fight.

Fan warns Garcia about Errol Spence Jr

Without a doubt, the fight is a headliner if it ever gets made! However, not everyone felt that way. One user completely ignored what Ryan Garcia proposed and demanded a fight against Gervonta Davis at 147. Garcia lost to Davis in April last year when they fought at a catchweight of 136 pounds.

Another user dismissed the fight entirely, claiming Spence is now a washed up fighter. However, it’s worth mentioning that Spence has only lost once in his career, that too, against one of the best fighters in the world.

Someone else thought the matchup made complete sense because it would be Garcia’s first time in welterweight and per the user, Spence has passed his prime, making him the perfect gatekeeper of the division.

Meanwhile, this user warned Ryan Garcia about Spence, suggesting ‘The Truth’ is a completely different animal and would easily beat him.

One user thought the fight was a great idea, but suggested 147 lbs would be too low for Spence to come down to. However, as mentioned before, Spence is already at welterweight unless he decides to move up to super welterweight.

With that said, Ryan Garcia seems to be on the mission to conquer the boxing divisions. However, whether he passes that mission is yet to be seen. Will Errol Spence Jr. accept the challenge? Or will Garcia have to find another contender?
