In the aftermath of Terence Crawford‘s triumph over Errol Spence Jr. in July last year, he swiftly ascended the pound-for-pound rankings, unifying the division. However, setbacks emerged as he was stripped of his IBF welterweight title. The title was then handed over to Jaron ‘Ennis’ Boots, the IBF mandatory challenger. After his loss, Errol Spence Jr. triggered a rematch clause and the plans for a rematch soon began. However, the plans soon fizzled out.

Errol Spence Jr. underwent an emergency cataract surgery earlier this month, which delayed a potential February rematch for the two. This left Crawford without a confirmed adversary. In the meantime, Ennis also remained without an adversary, leaving the fans in anticipation of his next fight. Since both now remain with opponents, fans eagerly anticipate a fight between the two. Boots, meanwhile, is already at the gym preparing for his next bout.

Jaron “Boots” Ennis achieved his dream of becoming a champion through determination and hard work, according to his father and trainer, Bozey Ennis. Despite the unconventional circumstances surrounding Ennis’ rise to the IBF title, the Ennis camp remains focused on its goal. Even though a lot of fans remain unconvinced by his recent achievement, Boots appeared to be focused on making a statement in the ring through his performance.

Recently he took to social media to share a couple of videos of his training. In the video, he can be seen showing off his skills while performing mitt drills. In the caption of the post, he wrote, “Staying sharp”, revealing the reason behind the workout session. However, contrary to expectations, the fans didn’t appear fond of his skills as they criticized the boxer in the comments. Many among them seemed to be fans of Terence Crawford.

Meanwhile, one fan jokingly hinted at a potential fight against Conor Benn. The fan stated, “Good idea because @ConorNigel is back after clearing his name…oh wait never mind but he’s back anyway.”

Someone else wondered if Boots would be making his way back into the ring in the Oscar Valdez vs. Liam Wilson fight card. He questioned, “Will you be on the March 30th card? can’t wait to see you back champ.”

Another fan shared his disappointment with Boots, writing, “All them opportunitys to fight bud and you ducked shame on you.” The fan also claimed that Boots tried to make Crawford look bad.

My passion for sweet science began at the tender age of 12, a gift from my father who introduced me to the legendary persona of Muhammad Ali. In my heart, 'The Rumble in the Jungle' still remains to be the pinnacle of sporting history. Over the years, my fervor for boxing remained intact, although life's commitments sometimes deviated me from being a hardcore fan of the sport.
