Floyd Mayweather Jr. finished his professional boxing career with an impressive undefeated record that spanned over two decades. However, his former training partner, Nate Jones, has some concerns about Mayweather’s potential return to the ring against younger and more dangerous opponents.

Mayweather has been competing in exhibitions since retiring from the sport back in 2017. He has since not faced anyone near the caliber of a high-class boxer, with most of his fights coming against YouTubers. Despite this reports are emerging that ‘Money’ wants to face the likes of welterweight champions Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. However, Jones thinks that ‘TBE’ will not fare well against these opponents.

Nate Jones gives a brutally honest take on Floyd Mayweather’s chances against Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr.

In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Jones speaks up on Mayweather’s return. However, when asked about ‘Money’s chances against either of the two champions, the former Olympian gave his honest opinion about the matchups. Jones stated that Mayweather’s window for big fights haS closed. Moreover, he specifically mentioned Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford as opponents that Mayweather should avoid. Jones also mentioned that Mayweather should focus on other endeavors such as exhibitions.

Floyd’s window is closed. He won’t be in a big fight no more. He don’t need it and I think he’ll get hurt. Keep doing them, but don’t fight Errol Spence Jr., and don’t fight Terence Crawford. Leave those boys alone. He’s retired, stay retired. New exhibitions, don’t f**k with the boys” said Jones.

Despite Jones’ warnings, only time will tell whether Mayweather decides to come out of retirement. However, it’s clear that he has already cemented his legacy and he doesn’t necessarily need to risk his health and reputation.

Floyd Mayweather speaks on fighting Errol Spence Jr or Terence Crawford

Mayweather just turned 46 years old this year and has been retired for 5 years. Spence and Crawford on the other hand are in the prime of their careers. While this fight could have been great when Mayweather was in his prime, it has little value now. Whether ‘Money’  ultimately decides to fight again or not, his impact on the sport of boxing is undeniable.
