Many fans think the Mike Tyson fight will be a cakewalk for Jake Paul. However, it could prove to be a career-ending mistake for Paul. At least, that’s what Tyson’s former trainer, Teddy Atlas, thinks. The Staten Island native trained Tyson alongside Cus D’Amato in the well-known Catskills, New York.
However, the duo parted ways after several disagreements that boiled up to Atlas pointing a gun at Tyson’s head. However, they have since hashed things over, and as Tyson is about to make a blockbuster return to the ring against the YouTuber-turned-boxer on July 20 at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, Atlas tried to explain today on social media why Paul has everything to lose. Meanwhile, Tyson has everything to gain from their upcoming fight, exclusive to Netflix.

Turning to YouTube with his regular video on everything boxing, Atlas claimed his take about the fight will make people question, “Did he just say that?” His take on the fight was, “I think this is a very dangerous fight for Paul.” To justify his statement, the legendary trainer claimed, “First of all, for me, he [doesn’t have] a lot other than money… If he wins, they say, ‘He’s 58 years old.’ And if he loses, they say, ‘He’s 58 years old. You lost to a 58-year-old guy.’”

On the other hand, Atlas feels Tyson is at a great place in his life and is getting paid good money. “Tyson, whatever they’re paying him, he’s been making good money. He’s come back, like I said, in his life, he’s done a good job, having the people around him. I guess his wife is part of that obviously where they’ve done a good job to get him on the track,” said Atlas. Meanwhile, UFC’s top honcho went on a rant about Jake Paul fighting Clint Eastwood next.
Dana White thinks Paul can’t sell PPV
It’s no secret that Dana White is no fan of the younger Paul brother. So, while appearing in a podcast with Pound 4 Pound, the UFC CEO had some fiery words for the upcoming fight between Paul and Tyson. He said, “When the fight happens, he’ll be 58 years old. It will be a 31 age difference. Jake Paul did fight a kid his own age, and he lost.”

White then brought up a video he saw on the internet recently, claiming, it said, “If he beats Mike Tyson, he’ll fight Clint Eastwood next. Clint Eastwood is 93 years old.” As per White, Paul’s aim isn’t to become a respected fighter. Rather, White said, “Jake wants to make money.” Moreover, White feels, “People who follow Jake Paul don’t buy Jake Paul’s fights, so Jake Paul has to fight people who can sell actual pay-per-views.” Hence, the choice of old fighters on Paul’s part.
