David Benavidez is the top contender in the super middleweight division. He defeated Caleb Plant on March 25 in Las Vegas via an impressive showdown and swept away a unanimous decision. As per reports, the WBC president publicly announced that the ‘Mexican monster’ is now the “mandatory” challenger for the undisputed super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez.

It is safe to say that Benavidez is now a potential opponent for Alvarez and is looking forward to his opportunity to fight for the title. Additionally, it appears that Benavidez has also moved on from his fight rivalry with Plant as the two were seen together during Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight.

What happened between David Benavidez and Caleb Plant at Davis vs Garcia?

This Saturday, Garcia squared off against Davis in the T-Mobile arena, in Las Vegas. The bout was highly anticipated and when it bout came to fruition, the boxing world made sure to tune in great numbers. There were many celebrities and notable personalities in attendance for this bout, including Plant and Benavidez, who took a picture together with their better halves. The two competitors had a very hostile lead up but it is evident that post the bout, the beef was squashed and they now share mutual respect.

User @RealLopez951 took to Twitter to share the picture with a satirical caption reflecting how the two appeared during the fight. He stated, “The Eminem and Marc Anthony of Boxin”

The fans were stunned to see the two rivals together just a month after their bout. It sparked some interesting fan reactions. One fan mentioned how the sport of boxing has such boxers with incredible sportsmanship. “At the end of the Day Boxing is a brutal sport, but you are a gentleman after,” they said.

While, on the contrary, one fan mentioned his criticism of such sportsmanship, by saying, “All these best friends after the fight… Plant didn’t take pics w Darrell Covington and didn’t apologize to Usman or Masvidal… It’s just funny how it’s about sportsmanship until they win…”

But one fan was in awe of seeing the two together. They commented, “Last night was a pretty special night no lie. Seeing Caleb and David squash the beef is admirable. The stars were out last night!”
