David Benavidez is the top contender in the super middleweight division. He defeated Caleb Plant on March 25 in Las Vegas via an impressive showdown and swept away a unanimous decision. As per reports, the WBC president publicly announced that the ‘Mexican monster’ is now the “mandatory” challenger for the undisputed super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez.

It is safe to say that Benavidez is now a potential opponent for Alvarez and is looking forward to his opportunity to fight for the title. Additionally, it appears that Benavidez has also moved on from his fight rivalry with Plant as the two were seen together during Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight.

This Saturday, Garcia squared off against Davis in the T-Mobile arena, in Las Vegas. The bout was highly anticipated and when it bout came to fruition, the boxing world made sure to tune in great numbers. The two competitors had a very hostile lead up but it is evident that post the bout, the beef was squashed and they now share mutual respect.

The fans were stunned to see the two rivals together just a month after their bout. It sparked some interesting fan reactions. One fan mentioned how the sport of boxing has such boxers with incredible sportsmanship. “At the end of the Day Boxing is a brutal sport, but you are a gentleman after,” they said.
