In the near past, Mike Tyson ran into controversies when he made certain comments on politicians such as the former Alaska Republican governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and the then-Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain. In 1992, convicted of rape, Tyson went to prison for three years, and because of his felony record, could not think of ever voting until the 59th Quadrennial Presidential Election.

In her recent conversation with Mike Tyson, News Max TV correspondent Greta Van Susteren inquired the latter about his current stance on the present-day political scenario of Florida. She asked Tyson what he thought about Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Trump, who currently were in Mike’s state.
“You’re down in Florida and you’ve got some pretty interesting politicians. You’ve got Governor Ron DeSantis and you’ve got President Trump. What do you think about those two? Those are two now the ones you have in your state. Now they live there?” Van Susteren asked.

In one line, cautious Tyson replied by saying, “Hey, listen. I can’t name; I can’t talk about no politicians.”

Why would Mike Tyson not talk about politicians?
In the recent past, Mike Tyson made a few controversial comments about members of the Republican party. Yet his name was besmirched with that of Donald Trump’s and he was even allegedly invited to the GOP Convention. However, Trump denied and Tyson never actually spoke at the Republican Convention. When asked about what he thought of DeSantis and Trump, Tyson said, “It’s just the last time I put my hat in the arena and gave my opinion awhile.”

“They gave me a beating. The press. Listen, I’mma stay away from politics and religion. They stole my freedom of speech,” Tyson concluded by saying.

While he was in prison, Tyson converted to Islam. In addition, he called himself a “realist” and explained how he dealt with the world coming at him. Although he took up Islam, Tyson admitted not following the religion as strictly as he should’ve had. However, Tyson looked for forgiveness from God. Even though Tyson sometimes failed at life, he hoped for mercy.
