Ahead of his fight with David Benavidez, as Caleb Plant entered the arena, a significant group of spectators from the Benavidez territory booed and heckled the American boxer. Plant, who has a shot at the WBC Interim World Super Middle title against Benavidez, arrived at the MGM Grand Garden Arena with the hope to award Benavidez his first professional defeat.

According to Oscar De La Hoya, Benavidez who claimed his style to be brutal will destroy Plant in the ring. Hence, Plant, who is fighting for financial security and for the pound-for-pound ranking, has a number of doubters to disappoint in boxing. Likewise, as Plant arrived to face Benavidez, he was greeted with discouraging gestures and words.

In 2021, against Canelo Alvarez, Plant had a chance to become the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. However, he lost it. Almost a year later, he made his comeback against Anthony Dirrell, knocking him out in the a 9th-round. Against Benavidez, Plant has the chance to establish himself as a member of the pound-for-pound list.

Unfortunately, the fight is bigger than it seems. As Plant was heckled, a fan named Spartan_A117 said, “This man is getting [an] unwanted amount of hate I swear.” Meanwhile, another fan named Unreleased Slapps added, “mark my words plant gonna shock the world!”

However, one user named🐑Dottie Day🐑 said, “He know he’s going to get his tail whooped for sure 🥊🥊”. On the other hand, another user named Arturo Zaragoza commented, “I’m Mexican but I honestly want and hope plant wins this fight.” Finally, one fan named Damien Martinez said, “I hope celeb plant shut these haters up”.
