Top Rank Eyeing Jose Ramirez’s Return Fight in December
Follow Us
The former super-lightweight champ, Jose Ramirez, might storm inside the boxing ring soon. The last time he made an appearance was in May 2021, when he locked horns with Josh Taylor for the undisputed title. This was his biggest bout, which promised a string of accolades. However, Ramirez ended up on the losing vertical that night and surrendered his hard-earned WBC and WBO super-lightweight titles.
But Ramirez has taken that loss on his chin, and now he’s in for his next challenge. More than anyone, he’s keen on strengthening his profile and regaining his throne.
Top Rank Promotions already has an opponent for him in Jose Pedraza. And as per The Athletic, they’re looking to stage this fight around December. However, there are no confirmed dates for this fight in December because of football scheduling.

Ramirez would be open to fighting against anyone from the roster. In his previous fight against Taylor, Ramirez began well. He was well ahead with his pace, timing, and punches. However, as the fight progressed, ‘Jaguar’ lost control and the Scottish boxer took advantage of the same. The latter even dropped Ramirez twice in this fight, and that eventually turned out to be a difference in this bout.
Despite getting dropped, Ramirez showed heart, and he took the fight to the final bell.

Can Jose Ramirez find his old momentum?
Ramirez, with the performance he put against Taylor, already seems to be in great shape and form. However, he lost to a better man in Taylor on fight night.
Regardless of that, there were immense positives for Ramirez to take out of that fight. Furthermore, he will look to explore ways to get a win and allure one and all. It’ll be interesting to see whether his fight with Pedraza comes to fruition soon.
